As always, you can find the source code over at the SMS Popup Google Code site.
Bugs, feature requests, comments? Try emailing me or even better, post to the SMS Popup Google Group (email is tough for me to respond to as the SMS Popup inbox is constantly flooded).

SMS Popup v1.0.0
- Quick reply directly from poup
- Reply by voice using quick reply and voice transcription
- Store preset messages and reply using them directly from popup
- Customize notifications, popup, vibrate, LED on a per-contact basis (this can be used to effectively ignore certain users or single out others)
- Configure the buttons on the popup
- Use just the notifications, just the popup or both
- Bug fixes and minor enhancements galore (better clearing of notification icon, alerts while on the phone, contact photo image resizing for larger contact photos)
- Compatible with devices that run Android 1.5 (Cupcake) and above - but still includes support for multiple resolutions (both smaller like QVGA and larger like WVGA)

This update looks great, but can I ask: does it also notify you if a text message fails to send? If not, this causes a problem when the default SMS notifications are turned off, because you never find out that a message hasn't sent.
ReplyDeleteI'm asking rather than just redownloading the app as it's hard to make a message fail on demand to test it and see!
Thanks.
Thank you very much for the update! I'm happy with the new updates, especially the QVGA support! Ever since I got the HTC Tattoo, this is one of the apps that I've missed a lot!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, keep up the great work Adam!
@Richard: unfortunately it doesn't notify you if a message fails to send. i'm still looking in a way to support this, it will hopefully be in a future version in the not to distant future. if a message does fail to send it will automatically re-send as soon as the phone has reception again.
ReplyDelete@Steve: no probs! glad someone is taking advantage of the QVGA/WVGA support. let me know if you find any other quirks when running on the Tattoo, as I don't have one to test with.
thanks for the update, the only thing i've noticed since then is that the photo of the contact no longer shows up. i tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it to see if it was something wrong. but its still not showing the picture. did u disable this feature?
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention before the update the picture would show when I recvd a sms...
ReplyDeleteMiss Monet: are you using a HTC Hero? There seems to be an issue with contact photos showing on the Hero. If so, can you try this version to see if it helps:

Adam
I manage apartments.
ReplyDeleteWith my palm I would have to hang up the phone and copy the phone # and send a preset message (directions to the apartment)
I was hoping for an App where I could send a preset message (directions) while on the phone. Will SMS POP up do this?
@John: SMS Popup is more of a reactive application (it comes up when a new SMS is received). I think the system messaging app can do this though (you can use the system messaging app while on a call and easily "paste" text in, I'm not sure how you would be able to store some preset messages though, other full messaging app replacements like Chomp SMS or Handcent might be able to do this).
ReplyDeleteCan I have a link to download the source code for this SMS-PopUp app ? I searched for it but couldn't get it.
